Do you struggle to maintain a healthy weight and eating habits?
Obesity and overweight are national epidemics affecting approximately 35% of adults and 17% of children. We live in a society where physical activity and healthy eating are a challenge rather than the norm. Furthermore, popular culture promotes fad diets that do not promote long-term weight loss.
If you are someone who has struggled with managing your weight or your child’s weight and has tried every diet on the planet, it may be time to consider a scientifically-based treatment approach that can lead to long-term, sustainable weight loss.
Dr. Peck’s Approach
Dr. Peck guides her clients towards achieving healthy weights and eating habits using behavioral weight loss. Behavioral weight loss (or family-based behavioral weight loss for children) is considered the gold-standard treatment for obesity and is the only treatment proven to reduce weight over a sustained period of time. Dr. Peck completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the UCSD Center for Healthy Eating and Activity Research, where she developed and delivered behavioral treatments to children and adults struggling with overweight and obesity. She continues to successfully treat clients struggling with eating and weight issues using these cutting-edge treatment approaches. Individual and family-based therapies emphasize dietary and physical activity education, along with strategies for building healthy habits. Through the use of these skills, clients build a path towards healthy living that will last.
